Improving Sub Floor Air Flow: Many older homes in the eastern suburbs can experience damp and mould in the colder months. In many instances this can be traced back to a damp sub floor. It is very important to get a good air flow under your home to keep the area dry (or dryer, depending on the severity of the problem!). The best air flow is ‘cross flow’ where the air circulation is from one side of the house to the other. This can often be achieved by installing additional wall vents into the brickwork. In some instances this may not be possible. We can advise on how to install a network of a.c. or d.c. fans that force air around the sub floor, assisting with drying out the area and helping reduce the incidence of dampness and mould.
