We get asked to do some very interesting and unusual handyman jobs from time to time around the eastern suburbs. A recent job involved changing the appearance of an ikea desk. We were asked to spray paint the steel legs of an ikea office desk. The reason the client wanted this was so that it would blend nicely into their newly decorated home office which had recently been repainted. The job involved dissembling the desk unit, removing the table top and frame and unscrewing the brackets that secured the table top to the rest of the desk.

Next, we masked off the plastic moldings and other fittings that were not to be painted. We then very lightly sanded down the steel legs. After this we applied 2 coats of a brilliant white spray paint. This resulted in a fresh, modern look to the table legs. We then reassembled the whole unit which looked fantastic back in its original setting.
