There are many instances where hinges need to be changed. This can be because the existing hinges are damaged, rusted or inoperable. We recently replaced hinges on a bathroom door in a very old eastern suburbs home. The hinges were probably made from mild steel that, due to the high humidity conditions in the bathroom (from poor exhaust fan performance), had rusted to the point that opening the door was becoming difficult!

We removed the old hinges and installed a pair of stainless steel hinges – guaranteed not to rust. Most older hinges were installed with old slot head screws. We always replace old screws with modern philips, cross head screws which makes installation and removal far easier.
